Dear Friends of the Theater,
Welcome to our 66th Annual Theatrical Season at Honesdale High School's Performing Arts Center, with our Honesdale High School musical production of Matilda!
Matilda the Musical is a captivating stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved novel, featuring music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Dennis Kelly. The story follows Matilda Wormwood, a precocious and extraordinarily intelligent young girl with a love for books and a vivid imagination, as she overcomes neglectful parents and a tyrannical school headmistress, Miss Trunchbull.
With the help of her kind-hearted teacher, Miss Honey, and her remarkable telekinetic abilities, Matilda finds the courage to stand up for herself and her friends, proving that even the smallest person can make a big difference. Filled with wit, heart, and unforgettable songs, the musical celebrates resilience, individuality, and the transformative power of storytelling.
We are grateful for our board of directors, administrators, teachers, students, parents, production assistants, stage crew members, community, Friend of Honesdale Performing Arts Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and the generous support of our Season Sponsorships.
