Leanne Kinney
Musical Director
Leanne was born in the 70s in Gainesville, Georgia. By the time Kevin Bacon hit the screen in 1984, she could play “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on the piano. Later she went on to learn “Brown Eyed Girl” and some of the Van Halen songs from the Sammy Hagar era. Elton John was way over her head then, but she loved to listen to him anyway. (And why were so many great songs written for guitar? “Dust in the Wind” never made sense on piano.) She studied commercial piano at Belmont College, but by the time it became Belmont University, she realized that she was not going to make money (or, more importantly, get any sleep) as a rock star. Now she pays the bills teaching the youth of America to perform and plays for musicals on the side. She particularly loves working at the Holly. It’s a great gig. She loves her team here. She loves you. Rock on.
