This is only the second play I have directed and boy, was it a whirlwind. I was introduced to Liv After Death as a one act in the pavilion in 2019. I was taken back by the humor; this play is so funny! I am a comedian at heart, so directing this play was a dream. Laura Wade is a phenomenal playwright and she just happens to be my mom. It has been an honor to direct this work of art. I am so proud of her work and how much she has grown. She is the reason I am who I am today. Thank you, mom!
I could not have done this show without my incredible team. Tom Staik has been the perfect Assistant Director. He was there for me at every turn and answered whatever questions I had. Mattie Bond and Katie Reifsnyder were literally my right-hand ladies! Anything and everything I asked of them, they did without question. Thank you all.
Liv After Death is a story about acceptance and closure.
Set in modern day, up-state New York, we join the Italian-American Espositio family in the days after the passing of the patriarch of the family. The characters navigate their new realities with a mix of humor and heartache, showcasing how families can be both a source of support and conflict. The play emphasizes that acceptance is not always immediate; it is a process that requires patience, understanding, and sometimes confrontation.
I invite you all to join us on this journey through laughter and tears as we celebrate love in all its forms.
