Brighton Beach Memoirs - June 07 - June 23, 2024

Highlands Little Theatre

 Director's Note

When I found out I was the alternate director for Brighton Beach Memoirs I was shocked! That shock quickly turned into excitement for a new project. This production has made me a better director and person. I am so thankful for everyone who helped me put this together. I would first like to thank my husband, Kody Short. I have the most supportive husband; a huge weight was taken off my chest knowing I would have a clean house and dinner made after most rehearsals. I cannot thank you enough for the love and support you have always given me! Happy First Married Anniversary!

I could not have done this without the support of my mom, Laura Wade. Her unwavering support gave me the confidence I needed to complete this Production. I am the person I am today because of my amazing and talented mom. Suzanne Schilffarth, I would not have lasted a week without her organization and insane imagination! I want to be organized so badly! Unfortunately, I am not, but Suzanne fills that void for me. Carly Juve, thank you for being available to do anything I ask of you! It has been so nice to work with an old friend. We missed you! Mike McMillan, thank you for taking my vision and turning it into a full-blown house. Thank you for not quitting! Thank you to Bob Jarvis for putting in endless hours down here getting my lights ready. Hadley and Katie, are my favorite people. Thank you for jumping into this project with me and being so supportive. Brody Baker, you are a jack of all trades! Thank you to Gary Johnson for his beautiful sound design.

I had the pleasure of working with an incredible cast! Some people I have worked with before and others I met for the first time when they auditioned!

Jen, thank you for all the expertise you brought to this production. From set advice to your precision on stage. I could not imagine doing this show without you!

Tom, we were strangers when this show started but we quickly became friends. Thank you for blessing us with your presence on stage.

Margaret, you are an incredible human being. I don't know how you juggle it all! Thank you for choosing my show to be your first one back after a well-deserved hiatus!

Mattie, I have had the pleasure of watching you grow for a while now. You are an actor through and through. Musicals will never be the same!

Julien, we are so glad you're a part of our HLT family. I am so proud of the performer you've become.

Abby, I cannot wait to see what other magic you make on stage. Thank you for doing my show!

Kaleb, sweet sweet Kaleb. You have given this show so much energy and charm. You get better and better every time we work together.

I hope you enjoy this nostalgic classic, I know I have.
