I have been a fan of Mel Brooks since I was a kid. The movie “Young Frankenstein” written in collaboration with Gene Wilder is an American classic and one of my favorites. My wife Tammie and I saw the original production on Broadway and I’ve wanted to bring it to  the HLT stage ever since. There are so many laugh lines in the show that you almost have to see it more than once to catch them all. The script is incredibly funny, very irreverent,  and very Mel Brooks at his best.

I have been blessed with an amazing cast of performers and a production team who have worked very hard to bring this ambitious production to our stage. This is the twenty sixth production I have directed at HLT and the talent we have in our community over the years never ceases to amaze me. From 2014 until 2018  Tammie and I were in Germany where I was the Manager and Artistic director of the Grafenwoehr Performing Arts Center at US Army Garrison Bavaria. Though not located in Transylvania we did visit the Town Frankenstein and saw the castle. It was a real treat!
