A Message from the Director:
As Legally Blonde JR comes to an end, I am reflective on the collaboration, communication, and ensemble connection that develops and grows through the process of a musical. Thirteen weeks ago, many of these students had never auditioned for a play and didn't know eachother. Now, we have 84 students who have formed unbreakable bonds, gained confidence on stage, and can fully appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to put on a play.
A play is called a play for a reason- to embrace the fun within the hardship, to learn how to grow, to find enjoyment even when the work is tough, and to play together each day. I am honored to direct and teach these students and am honored to be a part of this process. The end result is all them- this is not about the adult directors, but the work of each and every one of these 84 students on and off stage.
Thank you for coming and supporting their spark of joy, for supporting their growth, and enveloping these students with your praise and admiration.
I would like to say a special thank you to my music director, Susie Kraft, and my choreographer, Emily Ready, without whom this show would not have developed as quickly or successfully as it did. For their dedication to the production and to being the experts in areas I am not.
We collectively would like to thank the Herndon MS Theatre Booster board for their unending support behind the scenes for this production, and the entire performing arts department overall, we are lucky to have such supportive and felxible colleagues; to Scott Pafumi and the HHS theatre department for their support; to the Theatre Arts Directors Association and Fine Arts Specialist Tara Taylor- particularily Molly Rumberger, Evie Korovesis, Erich Dicenzo, Tim King, and Luke Scaros for loaning materials to our production; to Andrew Redmon; to Dan and Michelle Blanchet for their time and resources to support the production; to Michael Hedrick for building us countless items that will remain a part of the HMS drama program for years to come; to the HMS administration for putting the performing arts at the heart of the school; and to our parent booster members:
