The Addams Family Musical - March 25 - March 28, 2021

Hendersonville High School

 FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to Hendersonville High School and thank you for joining us today.

Last year, having to cancel our production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE was a disappointment. This year I am so excited that we are finally allowed to have in-person performances.

I am delighted for this opportunity to be directing such a talented and enthusiastic group of young people. Their dedication and commitment have been superior. It has been a joy to watch these students grow as actors, as well as individuals. The cast, orchestra, and stage crew are outstanding. It truly takes a community to put together a show of this magnitude. You will never know how much I appreciate all your time and effort to assure this show is a success.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY embraces the wackiness in every family and the story is every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart, young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Tim Ferguson, thank you for sharing your incredible talent. We are so blessed to have you playing for us. We appreciate the time and effort you have so willingly given.

A special thank you to Kaileigh Bullard, Choreographer, for her creative and fun interpretation of the characters through dance. We appreciate all the hours you have put into planning and teaching the choreography.

Thank you to Lexi Tatum, Vocal Director, for your warm, personal touch, and encouraging way of teaching the vocals for our production. You are an amazing and talented young woman. We are so fortunate to have you.

To Mrs. Kerhoulas-Brown, Mr. Pindel, Ashley Pindel and Stagecraft, thank you. You have brought this fun, dark, and wacky world to life. Thank you for the “creepy” set design that enhances the story of the Addams Family.

To my husband, Bernard, my unofficial Co-Director, thank you. Once again you have been my “rock” when the world was shifting. For all the times you have calmed, encouraged, and challenged me, thank you. I could not do this without your support.
