We welcome you to Ken Ludwig’s comedy play Lend Me a Tenor.
Ken Ludwig is an American playwright, author, screenwriter, and director whose work has been performed in more than 30 countries in over 20 languages including six productions on Broadway. Ken Ludwig’s first play, Lend Me a Tenor, won two Tony Awards and was called “one of the classic comedies of the 20th century” by The Washington Post.
The student cast worked hard in preparing this production, and their incredible abilities and unique talents are shown throughout what many consider one of the most hilarious shows ever on Broadway. We hope you are all entertained with the inventive rollercoaster of fun, comedy, and drama Lend Me a Tenor offers.
Ken Ludwig's most famous quote values the importance of community theaters. “I would not change very much about the American theater. I marvel and rejoice in the way the country’s [local] theaters have formed a network that has become, in essence, our National Theater.”
The shows, productions, and work our Hempstead students and staff create on stage are not just to honor our community but for the nation to marvel at.
