Sarah Gavin (Director)

 

 

 

Sarah Gavin is a Hemenway Elementary School alumni. She graduated from Framingham public schools and got her bachelor's and master's degrees from Westfield State University and Leslie University. She currently works in Newton public schools as a special education teacher. Sarah's past directing credits include Starfun theater camp, the 25th annual Putnam County spelling bee (Westfield State University), several shows at Hemenway including Beauty and the Beast and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, among many more. She has loved this opportunity to work so closely with her dad and these incredible fifth graders. She hopes everyone enjoys the show.

 

 

Jonathan Rosenthal (Musical Director)

 

Proud father of the Director Sarah Gavin, Mr. Rosenthal has served as the Musical Director for the Hemenway Elementary School’s Fifth Grade Musical for three years. He has taught Music in the Marlborough Public Schools for more than thirty years and is currently the K12 Supervisor of Music. Mr. Rosenthal is the former Director of the MHS Concert Band and String Ensemble, as well as a teacher of General Music at both the Elementary and Middle school levels, and served as Musical Director for Marlborough High School where he directed the musical for 21 consecutive years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Keene State College and a master’s degree in Music Education from Gordon College.

 

 

Madison Kornbliet (Choreographer)

 

Madi Kornbliet is in her fourth year as the Director of A Broadway Kids Company ~ Framingham. She has been a part of the theatre community since she was four years old. She attended High Point University where she studied childhood education and family studies and was a part of Petal Points, an all women acapella group. She studied acting, singing, dancing (ballet, tap, hip hop) in her earlier years. Her choreographer credits include lead choreographer for an art/dance camp for
two years as well as for High School Musical and Alice in Wonderland. She directed Beauty and the Beast. She choreographed Willy Wonka, Jr. for Hemenway Elementary School’s fifth grade musical last year. For ABC, she directed and choreographed Willy Wonka, Jr., was the Assistant Director for Into the Woods, Jr., and has been the lead make-up and hair stylist for ABC’s Headshot Extravaganza for the past four years.
