"Tony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan)."
- MTI Theatricals
Peter and the Starcatcher is the whimsical and adventurous prequel to the famous tale of Peter Pan, which itself, inspired multiple stories, movies, and a very popular broadway musical. In creating a prequel to the famous story of J.M. Barrie, audiences are able to experience the magic and lore of the famous characters such as Captain Hook, the giant crocodile, and Peter himself. "From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair... and the bonds of friendship, duty and love." Although the show has a few songs in it, it is not seen as as a musical, but rather a play that features music. Peter and the Starcatcher was nominated for 9 Tony Awards in 2012 and won 5 cementing it as a favorite and a new staple in the theater world for high schools everywhere.
Our cast and crew has worked tirelessly over the past 2 and a half months to bring you into the imaginative world of pirates, sailors, and magic run amok on a tropical island. We are so thankful for them and for our stage and tech crew for all they have done to put the show together from designing the set, painting various pieces, hair and makeup, and all of the technical aspects that go into a successful production.
Enjoy our Fall 2024 production of Peter and the Starcatcher, and we cannot wait to see you all at our Spring 2025 performance of Anastasia!
