Elastic Mind Notes
When I started Elastic Mind, it was just a college assignment. And through so much hard work, I wielded my imagination into reality. I do not take for granted the many folks who got me here- so many actors, namely Kerri Garret, Jarron Williams, Michaela Harrell, Carleon Outlaw, Zoë Jones, Sulaiman, AC Wilson, Ashley Graham, Laura E. Rojas, Keith Ferguson, and Weléla Mar Kindred. You all worked through my demons for me. You all gave me pain company and turned my heart softer.
Elastic Mind is a wonderful story. It’s a new story, and let me tell you - there’s nothing more freighting than creating something new and offering it up for criticism. Every artist knows that pain.
But to my black folks, the ones who fight for equity, for space, who on a daily basis fight for the right to have their imaginations heard. It ain’t gotta make sense to everyone. As long as you love what you made and enjoyed the time you spent learning with your friends and family, you accomplished God’s greatest hopes for you. Be encouraged. After 3 years of trying, we open tonight! ELASTIC MIND FOREVER! #DelayedButNotDenied All that is good and accomplished in this world takes work! This is a win for all of us. Thank you for sharing it with me!
