Playwright’s notes:
Spaceships and Stardust started with a picture of the nebula NGC 2060, a picture meant to be a prompt for a 15-minute play. What started as a short, contained Star Trek spoof accidentally developed into a full-blown sci-fi world chock full of cheesy fight scenes, dramatic monologues, bad puns, and most importantly, space lesbians. This show isn’t my masterfully constructed brainchild, it’s more like my lovingly pieced together heartchild, a combination of a William Shatner era Star Trek episode, a rom-com about lesbians who can’t figure out how to ask each other out, and a retro video game with horrible graphics. I invite you to laugh at the bad jokes, fall in love with the quirky characters, and remember a time when Star Wars was the pinnacle of entertainment. - Caroline Sasso
