Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome one and all to Theatre South’s production of Rumors. Written by Neil Simon, this farcical play is a quick paced, high stakes, hilarious show. With the absurdity of the characters and plot, you’re sure to have a few laughs! The show portrays the elites of society in the most awkward of situations. Four couples attend an anniversary party, unaware of the events that are about to occur. As the night progresses, these graceful characters are thrown into a major scandal; they handle it in the most ungraceful way! Neil Simon wrote Rumors for the sole purpose of humor. Throughout rehearsals, every line delivery, choreographed movement, and facial expression was made with that idea in mind, to make people laugh. You’re all in for a hilarious bedlam of a show!
We would like to thank Mr. Marr for his dedication to his cast and crew on this show. Even though the time allotted for the production of this play was scarce, Mr. Marr managed to make each and every rehearsal enjoyable and entertaining for everyone involved. His conviviality is evident in the actors on stage; you’ll be able to see and feel the fun they’re having. Theatre South wouldn’t be the great club it is today without him. Through his extensive knowledge and unending love, nothing we students do in TS would be possible. We would also like to thank Motch, Deb, Lydia, and the cast and crew for all their hard work on this production. Lastly, we’d like to give a large thank you to Ms. Elliot, Ms. Applebaum, and Mr. Duggan. Without fail, they attend every one of Theatre South’s productions. Their interest and dedication for our club is greatly appreciated. We are honored to attend a school that has such devotion to the arts.
We hope you enjoy the show and share lots of laughs!
Sincerely,
Isabella Malfi, Jack Doremus, Ali Walker, Elora Aclin, and Alexis Pramburger
