From the Director: Wendy Jensen
Several years ago, I heard that The Lion King Jr. was available. It was at that time I knew I wanted to experience this show. I had to wait for the right time. This year was it! I had a musical director who could learn the music and ensure the proper pronunciation. I had a choreographer who was willing to work with several ensembles and multiple things going on at once. I had a Head of Costume, Becca Jolly, who understood my vision and went with it in full force. And, I had the cast. It’s so fun watching young children experience theatre for the first time. Thank you to the numerous volunteers who made this production into the success you’re seeing tonight. This night is because of the student’s hard work and your help. Thank you!
From the Musical Director: Kristi Knowles
Wow! We’ve come a long way in the past three months to get to show night. As the musical director the most difficult task we faced as a cast was learning all of the new African languages. The cast was amazing. I encourage you look up each African saying in your program to see the English translation. Thank you parents, for listening to the soundtrack on repeat to help them learn these fun new songs. Finally to the cast, for their hard work and dedication – enjoy performing tonight, and break a leg!

I am so proud to be a part of this production. Not only do I get to work with an amazing cast of students, but my team of directors and all the fantastic parent volunteers have made this such a great experience! Everyone has worked so hard, and tonight we finally get to see our dream realized. To our cast, thank you for your dedication and perseverance, now you get to shine on stage!
