Struggles of a Father's Love - June 08

From School To Possibilities

  Play Summary

Struggles of a Father's Love started in the early 2000’s when people still had home telephones, beepers, and Facebook was new. A young man named Tony, recently discharged from the military, finds himself becoming a father with a woman he’s not in love with. But he is determined to be there for his son, unlike his own father, despite all the obstacles trying to keep him from his son. So this play follows the life journey of Tony fighting and never giving up to stay in his son's life.

This play was inspired by real life situations of Kyon Edwards, co-writer. There are many father's doing everything possible to stay present in their children's lives despite other negative forces trying to keep them apart.

Our hope from this play is to inspire empathy, understanding, and perhaps even some healing for those who have struggled with similar issues.  And to uplift the fathers fighting and never giving up to have a relationship with their children.

Some proceeds will go to support “From School To Possibilities” summer workshop to inspire, engage, and ignite minority youths to the world of media and entertainment.
