Myrlene Kennedy, PhD
Musical Founder/Producer - In 1969, Myrlene Kennedy directed and produced the first completed musical at FHS, BRIGADOON. HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME is the 50th show established by Dr. K. Dr. Myrlene Kennedy passed in 2014.Her tradition of excellence in the Fine arts became a driving force of the FHS Musical. We celebrate her legacy with this 50th anniversary performance.

Kathy Powdrell
Director - Kathy Powdrell celebrates 28 FHS Musicals. In 2008 she was the University Interscholastic League Sponsor Excellence Award Winner with 13 visits to the State Meet and 4 state championships, as well as Founder's Award Winner for the Texas Educational Theatre Association where she served as President Elect. She and Earle are advocates for The National Spinal Cord Injury Association.

Michael Tyer
Vocal Music - Mr. Tyer has been teaching for 15 years, and is in his fifth year as choral director at Friendswood High School. He has been the director of music for 14 productions and is proud to be directing his fourth at FHS. Mr. Tyer holds degrees from Sam Houston State University and Stephen F. Austin State University, and is a member of TMEA and TCDA.

Julio Sanchez
Instrumental Music - Mr. Sanchez is a 1990 graduate of Texas Tech University. He has 28 years teaching experience in Texas public schools and is Assistant Director of the FHS Bands and the Director of the FHS Jazz Band. Under his direction, the Pit Band has been nominated several times for Tommy Tune instrumental music awards. Mr. Sanchez is a member of TMEA, TBA, PAS and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.

Alyssa Goza
Choreographer - FHS graduate, Mrs. Goza, attended Kilgore College and Texas State University graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Dance in 2013. Mrs. Goza is a proud Wranglerette alumni and is in her fourth year as the Wranglerette Director. She has been the choreographer for Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, and Les Mis, with Mary Poppins and Les Mis receiving nominations for Best Choreography at The Tommy Tune Awards. Mrs. Goza is honored to be part of this 50-year legacy at Friendswood High School!
