 End Notes

A note from the Director!

Hello, and welcome to the 2013 Frenship High School Fine Arts Musical! We are so excited that you have decided to join us for this performance of "Shrek the Musical!"

In May the fine arts directors sat down and looked at options for this year’s show. We made our way through our options, shows such as "The Sound of Music" and "Fiddler on the Roof" and while they are great shows and each was discussed with positives and negatives, it was not until we reached the information page for "Shrek" that everyone’s faces lit up! "Shrek" has been such a fun show to produce and I know that I speak for all the Fine Arts Directors when I say that we have loved every minute of this show!

It is no secret that my favorite time of year is winter, and especially the time surrounding Christmas. I love how the season brings warmth to our homes, closeness with others, and a sense of love for each other. Friends and families who have not seen each other in months, maybe even years, come together to spend time telling stories and sharing in each other’s lives.

It seems only appropriate that the Fine Arts Musical falls during this happy season. Anyone who has been involved in a show can testify that it is very much like a family! There is a sense of closeness and love that is fostered among the cast and crew. There are even a few family feuds, but the underlying love always shines through. There is nothing like opening night and hearing the crowd go crazy and walking into the lobby to see so many friends and family members who are here to support what we do.

It is our hope that our yearly show will become a part of your family's holiday traditions. We hope that the auditorium will be filled with warmth,  that you will see the closeness that we share, and you will experience the love we have, not only for each other, but for each of you!

On behalf of the Frenship High School Fine Arts Faculty and Staff, I wish you the Merriest of Christmases. May the blessings of this most wonderful time of the year abound for you and your family! Now sit back, relax, and know that we hope you enjoy watching "Shrek" as much as we have enjoyed preparing it for you!

Warm Winter Wishes!
