Director's Note

This has been such a fun musical to produce. When we announced this as the Musical for 2018-2019, some studentw were trepidatious. "They Boy Friend? We've never heard of that!" was the typical response if I recall correctly. It's new material for most of our students, but the show feels familiar. At this point in the year, we are all so fond of Tony and Polly and the rest of the characters, it's hard to imagine not knowing their story. It's a fun show, plenty of toe-tapping tunes, and a LOT of dancing. The students were particularly challenged by the choreography created by Aimee Heroux, to who I am greatly indebted. My dance vocabulary is fairly limited, and she coaxed dancing and technique out of these students that I would not have been able to achieve without her help. I also want to shout out Carin Duncan, who is literally Wonder Woman. She does so much for me, this program, the students, and our school; if I could shout her name from the rooftops, I would, but they won't let me on the roof for insurance reasons :)

I truly hope you enjoy this show--it's fun and colorful and charming, just like the students who perform in and support it.  We are so glad to have you and I thank you for your support.
