Greetings,
On behalf of Sewanhaka Central High School District, Floral Park Memorial High School, the entire Music Department, and this incredible cast, I would like to welcome you to our brand new auditorium. We are completely blessed to be able to provide our students with this state of the art facility.
I would like to take a moment to thank all of the administration for supporting us in putting on this incredible production. Thank you to the community for your continued support in the arts and this program. Because of the support of our administration and the community, we will continue to provide the best education in the arts for all students.
This show took an army, and whenever we needed help, it was received. I would like to thank my entire creative team: Mr. Louis Dura, Mr. Greg Wilson, Mr. Gregory Krajci and Mr. William Rockensies, Avalon Sound and Mr. Stanley Karwacki for bringing my ideas to life with this show. There have been many blood, sweat and tears put into this performance, but I think we can all agree it was well worth it!
I also want to thank our amazing stage crew! They are doing incredible things back stage, in the dark, making this show run as smooth as possible. In addition to the changing of sets, they were able to build some of the most incredible set pieces to make this show a success. Without them, we would not be able to make this performance one to remember.
Thank you to the students, who have endured countless hours of rehearsals. They were absolutely incredible with every change, every bad idea, every mistake and eventually every success that we were able to create together. Their hard work and dedication is what makes this performance so special.
And lastly, I want to thank the parents. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach you students about the musical theater. Thank you for allowing them the opportunity to create, and imagine like all students should!
This show will forever hold a special place in Floral Park's history as it will be the first Musical Theater Performance in our brand new facility. Let us transport you back to those Summer Nights, in '59! Feel free to laugh, cry, sing along and reminisce! Now sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
