TO THE CAST AND CREW OF THE MUSIC MAN:
What an amazing ride this has been! It was an arduous process to choose what musical to perform this year, after such a successful show last year with Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, our first foray into a full-scale Broadway production. We kept coming back to The Music Man—it was my favorite musical growing up—and I love the characters and songs from this show so much. Todd finally said to me, “You know this is the show you should do!” and that settled it. And he was so right. This was the perfect show for this cast, for this year. The cast could not be more wonderful!! Every one of you—Harold, Marian, Marcellus, Paroo Family, Shinn Family, School Board Quartet, Del Sarte ladies, Wa Tan Ye Girls, salesmen, band members, townsfolk---every single one of you has been such an amazing member of this Music Man family. We have laughed together, passed out together, sung together, “Shipoopi-ed” together, and had an experience together we will never forget. None of this would have been possible without the incredibly hard work of our crew! They have once again worked their “magic” and created River City, Iowa, before our eyes. You are an unbelievably talented group of people and we pray God will bless you richly for sharing your gifts with us! To the parents of these students, who have blessed us with much-needed nourishment (among other things), we are so grateful to you! To all who worked on the dinner side of the dinner theatre---you are amazing! Thank you! To the seniors in our cast, please know that you are irreplaceable in our hearts. We pray God’s richest blessings on you as well. You will be sorely missed. To all who were my “right hands” in this endeavor (and you know who you are), to say thank you is most inadequate…but I’ll say it anyway…THANK YOU. To my husband who has also worked tirelessly to take up my slack at home in addition to what he’s done for the production I owe a huge debt of gratitude! And to my God, I am so thankful for the incredible blessing You have given me to work with such an inspiring, talented, dedicated group of students and adults on The Music Man!
