Choreographer
A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Anna Kirkes received her dance training from Shuffles and Ballet Arkansas. In 2009, Anna graduated with a BA in Dance and Psychology from Centenary College of Louisiana. While pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Iowa, Anna had the privileges of performing Jose Limon’s Psalm under the direction of Nina Watt, working with renowned choreographer and theater artist Martha Clarke, and touring regionally. Anna also traveled to Chennai, India for a three-week intensive study of the classical Indian dance form Kuchipudi. After completing her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, Anna danced professionally with Ballet Arkansas for two seasons. In 2013, Anna and her husband moved back to Shreveport, where Anna co-teaches a Dancing with Parkinson’s class, serves as the lecturer in dance at Centenary College, and works as a freelance choreographer. She is grateful to God for the opportunity to do what she loves with people she loves!
