I have been a part of the theatre program since I was a little 7th grader starting with Down In Front. From there, I fell in love with acting and have been in 9 shows, including: Grease, Who Am I This Time, Donovan’s Daughters, Crisis Inc, Mary Poppins, Oz, I am a Star, Nora’s Lost, and now Sister Act. During this time, we have gained many section titles, and even a state championship when I was the lead as "Beth" in Oz. That was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget and will cherish forever. I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my high school acting career. Acting on the Fillmore Central stage is one of the things I will miss the most, but I’m glad to have been a part of this terrific theatre program for the past 6 years, and wouldn’t change a thing about it. Thanks for the many broken legs, and memories, FC! Because of you all, I’ll be forever a proud “theatre geek!" Much love, Kelsey!

Past shows: “Grease,” “Mary Poppins,” “Oz,” “I Am A Star,” “Nora’s Lost,” and “Sister Act.” The FC theatre department has become an important part of my life during the past five years. I’ve been fortunate to make amazing memories and even better friends. My favorite roles were Jane in Mary Poppins and Young Martha in Nora’s Lost. Sometimes being short has its perks. I’d like to thank all my cast mates and Mrs. Whitacre for all the support, endless laughs, and flexibility with my busy schedule. Being in the arts has benefited me in too many ways to list. I will miss working with such wonderful and talented people after I graduate.

Being a new face in anything is tough. But the play crew has sure made it a lot easier. I always enjoyed watching plays and performances, but never had the guts to try it. Play is a lot of fun and I encourage kids to try it. Who knows, you might be good at it! Don’t wait until it’s too late. Even if you’re in a spring sport, you can still do play. I did!
