Shortly after settling in Fairbanks in 2007, the first FLOT production that Sylvain saw was “The Sound of Music”. Since then he has appeared in numerous FLOT productions including Oklahoma, Sweeney Todd, The Secret Garden, Music Man, Les Miserables and last fall, 1776. Sylvain has also performed with Opera Fairbanks in Help! Help! The Globolinks, Verdi and the Bard, Magic Flute, Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Trouble in Tahiti. He’s also had the privilege to sing with FSO in Brahms Requiem and Mozart’s Requiem. The role he feels best suited for is that of Daddy, to his 2 little girls, Lacey and Rosalie who are making their stage debut in this production. Captain Von Trapp is at a loss without a mother to his children and Sylvain is most grateful to his wife Wendy for all the support.
