The Addams Family - November 22 - November 24, 2019

Danvers High School

 From the Director:

Welcome to The Addams Family!  For over 80 years, the Addams have been one of America’s most famous fictional families.  They appear to be anything but normal; however, we are reminded throughout the show that “normal is an illusion.  What is normal for the spider is a calamity for the fly.”

On the surface, this production may feel like it’s being presented a few weeks too late, but I think this is a perfect way to kick-off the holiday season.  The Addams are not merely creepy and kooky.  Beyond their macabre interests, they are a close-knit family who love each other in their own, odd way.

As you enter the holiday season, I encourage you to celebrate your own family’s oddities.  After all, who isn't without their quirks?  Morticia and Gomez teach us that family is everything, whether “living, dead, or undecided.”

Thank you to the ACTS family for bringing this musical to life.  Alex Grover, Briana Fallon, and Tracie Ewing, you are the best team to work with.  Jeannine Nash and the entire parent board – I am forever grateful for all you do for our students with little fanfare.  The costumes, hair, and makeup by Kathy Moriarty and Brendon Gaffum help bring this production to the next level!   I know our actors are so appreciative of the time you put in to make them look and feel perfect.  Gavin Nolan, I am in awe of your skill and dedication.  You will be sorely missed next year.

Thank you so much to the DPS central office, DHS administration, and custodial staff for your support of our program.  We are so lucky to be part of a community that values the arts!

To the amazing students in our cast and crew – thank you for sharing your talents and for all your hard work on this production.  It is a true joy to spend my afternoons with you.

Finally, to you, our audience – our team is so grateful for your presence here this weekend.  Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy the show!
