 Director's Note

Welcome to our production of "Finding Nemo Jr."! As we dive into this underwater adventure, I am thrilled to guide our talented cast and crew through the depths of storytelling and creativity with a story that is filled to the brim with important lessons and messages.

One of the most beautiful aspects of "Finding Nemo Jr." is its universal message of inclusivity. In the vast ocean of life, we encounter creatures of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and disabilities. Through the journey of Nemo, Marlin, and Dory, we are reminded that our differences should be celebrated, not feared. Just as the characters in our story learn to embrace each other's unique traits, so too do we hope to foster an environment of acceptance and understanding among our cast and audience.

As a parent myself, I recognize that one of the hardest lessons to learn is letting go. In "Finding Nemo Jr.," Marlin faces the ultimate challenge of allowing his son, Nemo, to explore the world on his own. This theme resonates deeply with me and, I'm sure, with many parents in our audience. Through Marlin's journey, we are reminded of the importance of trust, resilience, and the inevitable growth that comes from allowing our loved ones to chart their own course.

The students of PS#3 are very fortunate to offer our students arts education on a different level. Having drama as part of the curriculum, not only are students honing their performance skills , they are also nurturing invaluable life lessons and also experiencing literacy in dynamic and immersive ways. Whether it's analyzing character motivations, dissecting plot structures, or exploring subtext, objectives, and stakes, drama provides a multi-faceted approach to literacy that engages students on a profound level.

I am immensely proud of the dedication and passion that each member of our production has brought to "Finding Nemo Jr." It is my hope that our journey beneath the waves will not only entertain but also inspire empathy, courage, and a sense of wonder in all who join us on this adventure.

So, sit back, relax, and let the currents of imagination carry you away as we embark on this unforgettable voyage with Nemo and friends.
