Director's Note: The last year and a half of the Covid pandemic has been one of the most challenging times that many of us have faced. As I watched the world go into quarantine and the loss of shared experiences, one thought kept occuring to me "the arts will always find a way." I was so amazed at how artists adapted to virtual platforms to continue to perform and create. So many things disappeared from our daily lives, but here we are coming back and gathering in a space together. Broadway shows are reopening. Local theatre companies are resuming live performances. Concerts and art shows are happening and the audience is coming back. We have had to make adaptations, particularly using masks and distancing and other protocols, but we are here together.
We are here to celebrate our Thespians and theatre student's creativity and passion. They have worked so hard to bring live theatre at CAHS back. I have watched them grow and change together and am so grateful that we are able to bring this show to you tonight. I believe that the arts make us better human beings and are essential for our emotional well being. Thank you for your support and attending our first live and in person show since the Covid Pandemic began. Here's to many more.
Acknowlegements: They say it takes a village. There are so many who have given their time and support to bring our little village to life. We would like to express our gratitude to those who helped us along the way. We are so grateful to Kristin Allison for serving as our Technical Director and guiding our stage crew in the creation of our sets and the production elements of our show. We would also like to thank Carlene Wymer and Mary Lorance for our costume coordination and alterations. We are grateful to local light designer Kurt Mueller for helping us relearn our light system. Thank you to David Monseur and Hastings Middle School for helping us with sound supports. Thanks go out to Sarah Thornburg for organizing our dress rehearsal snacks and we thank all the theatre parents who contributed. Thanks to the parents who donated paint and supplies. Thanks to Mary Klain and Jim Musser for their kind financial donation to the theatre program. Thank you to the staff members and parent volunteers who helped with box office, ushering and other front of the house tasks. As always, we would like to thank the staff and administration of CAHS for their continued support. And finally, we thank you for spending an evening with us.
