 Directors' Notes

“Being a part of something special makes you special.”

When Peter and I became presidents of BHP, I had little idea what to expect. I didn’t know what show we would put on, who would be in it, or how much time, work, and attention it would require. All I knew was that something special would be created, and I wanted to be part of it.

Legally Blonde: The Musical tells a powerful story of a woman's strength. In a world that often seeks to define and limit us, the women in this production embody resilience, empowerment, and sisterhood. They remind us that true strength comes in many forms. As you watch the performance, I invite you to reflect on the extraordinary strength of women—both onstage and off. Embrace the moments of joy, laughter, and reflection. Remember that being part of this audience makes you a vital part of this story as well.

As a director, I am inspired by the powerful narratives we have the privilege to tell; even more so by the remarkable individuals with whom we are telling it. I am sincerely grateful to the talented cast and crew who have poured their hearts into this production. Your dedication and enthusiasm have made every rehearsal a joy, and your commitment to storytelling is what makes this experience truly special. I will cherish these moments for as long as I can remember them. It has been an honor to be your director. Thank you all, and please enjoy the show!

"Being a part of something special does not make you special.

Something is special because you are a part of it."

Directing and producing this play with Alexis has been an adventure to remember. Starting from scratch, we had no idea what to expect. With a vision of something wonderful, we agreed to do everything we could to make it happen.

To the audience; as you sit back, relax, and watch the show, I invite you to observe how the cast is able to portray their emotion to fill the roles of each character.

Putting aside the technical aspects of medicine, one duty of the healthcare team is to heal their patients through empathy and directed emotion. Working alongside the individuals in this production has allowed me to understand how incredible our fellow CUMC students are, and how effective they operate on an individual emotional level and as a team.

Alexis and I navigated many obstacles to ensure this night is the best it can be. We would like to thank the cast and crew for always having solutions and for working together to create such a cohesive group. Your accountability, reliability, and dedication have made this process so enjoyable. It has been my pleasure to be your director, and I thank you all.
