Greetings and Welcome to the Historic Seele Parish House on the First Protestant Church Campus,
We're so glad you are present with us today to enjoy this performance of the classic Mary Poppins story!
As the founding institution at the heart of the city of New Braunfels, First Protestant Church has always brought the community together around the arts - including music, theatre, dance, sewing, painting, architecture, etc. - all art forms have been and continue to be celebrated and 'given the stage' in our spiritual community. Why?
The famous Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky once said that "Beauty will save the world."
What he meant is that the arts do not command or tell us what to care about. Rather, good art remind us what we all already most deeply care about.
Even more importantly, the arts lend us courage to believe that those highest ideals and deepest kindnesses and life-giving forces that are most dear to us just might win out in the end over all that is petty, destructive and confusing. Don't we all need encouragement to believe that these days?
We pray that through this performance you will be reminded of what matters most in your life. And you will be inspired to believe what the bible teaches: that infinite love and goodness is not killable, and that imperfect people like you and I are invited to rest in that reality which inspires all the beautiful art that has ever been made!
We invite you to join us on a Sunday morning for our worship services which meet at 9:30am and 11:00am in our historic sanctuary, where each week we refocus ourselves together on "what matters most" in all of our lives.

On the brink of adventure,
Rev. Andrew Keuer
Senior Pastor, First Protestant Church
About First Protestant Church & the Coll Street Players
First Protestant Church: First Protestant Church was the first German Protestant Church that served the original settlers immigrating from Germany to New Braunfels. The church began in 1845 and the campus has evolved to what it is today over the past 175 plus years. The first service, however, was held on the coast at Indianola in 1844 led by Pastor Ervendberg. The settlers were giving thanks for the safe journey over the ocean from Germany to Texas. First Protestant seeks to be a spiritual home in the heart of New Braunfels, where we seek God, share His love and serve others.
Coll Street Players: The Coll Street Players provide professional, thought-provoking live stage productions in the heart of historic New Braunfels, welcoming all who share a passion for the transforming power of theatre. The Coll Street Players are an entity of First Protestant Church and housed in the historic Seele Building
