Alexander Cobb
Director and Choreographer
Alexander Cobb’s mission is to raise awareness for the “Performing Arts” among inner-city children by providing them with an
opportunity to become more involved in the arts and entertainment culture
within their community. Mr. Cobb is a well-known hip-hop, ballet, jazz,
modern and contemporary dancer and is currently the Musical Theater Director at
Cloonan Middle School. A native of Stamford, Ct, Alex started dancing at the
age of five. He has trained at some of the best local and national venues
including the Stamford Ballet, the Connecticut Ballet, Broadway Dance Center
and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, his studies culminating in touring
in two Broadway shows ” Hello Dolly' & “Victor Victoria." Also
studying a year and half at Juilliard. Mr. Cobb has mastered numerous
dance styles and techniques, combining them to form his own brand of hard
hitting, edgy dance with a touch of musical theater, forming a version of
street jazz & Broadway hip hop. Through his love of musical theatre and directing,
Mr. Cobb hopes to inspire his students and the world with a love for Broadway.
Mr. Cobb is currently the artistic director of idance studio and plans to
take his love of the arts to a new level, opening his own Performing Arts
school in 2015.
