Notes from the Director-
Good evening!
I would like to start by thanking you for attending our show!
My heart has truly been blessed with this production of "The Sound of Music". The cast and crew that you see before you have put in countless hours of time, hard work, and dedication in order to make this production truly special. There is nothing like the magic of a musical, and I feel we have accomplished so much more than I could have ever dreamed of!
As I sit here anticpating our opening night show, I can only think of the reverance, magic and awe I feel as the overture starts in a dark theater. The anticipation of the audience, cast, and crew is palpable. There is a special type of magic that occurs in a hushed theater when the pit orchestra previews the show with snippets of songs before the first actors or sets are seen. That feeling of anticipation that took months to create will soon dissipate into a theatrical journey that I hope you will enjoy as much as I have.
This cast has put an incredible amount of time, energy, and heart into this production, Art only truly becomes a living, breathing thing when passion meets perseverance and this cast and crew have gone above and beyond to make this happen. The pride I feel for these students and this production cannot be translated into words, but suffice it to say, it has been a truly remarkable experience. Every time I work with these young people, I am constantly amazed by their abilities, kindness, consideration, and heart. As an educator, nothing is more heart-touching for me than watching my students succeed and excel at whatever they do. I'm sure you will agree with me that this production of "The Sound of Music" excels in every aspect.
Thank you to a wonderul cast, crew, and community for giving me the opportunity to produce "The Sound of Music". It is a lifelong dream fulfilled. I'm truly grateful and blessed to have had this experience.
I hope that this production blesses your heart with the sound of music as it did mine.
