A Word From The Director
The challenge with presenting a classic family musical like Annie is to honor what has come before while still trying to make it fresh and new and present it in our own unique way. Throughout rehearsals I have tried to give the cast the freedom to improvise, to try things in new ways, and to build their characters in their own unique ways. The cast really rose to the challenge, and what they have accomplished is pretty remarkable. Most of our cast is quite young, and most of them have never been in a mainstage musical before, yet here they all are, playing lead roles and having the time of their lives!
Throughout the rehearsal process, it has been amazing to see the way even the shyest, most inexperienced kids opened up when they got on stage, and how quickly they all bonded. They have been a joy to work with. Each student is incredibly unique, and all of them have a great sense of joy and willingness to try new things. I am very proud of what they have accomplished in this production, and with just how much each of them has grown.
I hope you enjoy the show, and I hope you will consider joining us for our spring classes and our spring musical!
