Directors Note

As a director, I always find a favorite line in each show. In this show it is said by Bagheera at the beginning, "We often fear things we do not know.". In my experience with directing shows, students are almost always afraid of auditions. For this specific show, auditions started on the second day of 6th grade. To intensify that statement, the second day of Middle School! But these students took that fear, pushed it aside, and chose to be brave and go on this adventure together. There is a magical moment that you can see in a student when they take a moment of fear and overcome it. I was able to watch that almost 60 times during auditions for The Jungle Book. In the short amount of time we have had together, we have taken the fear of auditions and memorizing lines and singing in front of eachother and have turned it into a show that we can feel proud to know will entertain and share a special story.

Thank you for coming out and supporting these brave, talented, and wonderful young humans in our production of The Jungle Book!
