 Who's Who

  • Alexa Wheeler head shot

    Alexa Wheeler

    as Jack Kelly

Newsies Jr. is senior Alexa Wheeler's fourth CSPA musical production. She has previously performed in Guys and Dolls Jr, Legally Blonde Jr, and Little Mermaid Jr. For Alexa, the most rewarding part of this experience is being able to watch her hard work pay off and seeing everyone's reaction to it. This has been the most fun show she's been in, and she is so grateful for her role as Jack Kelly. Alexa loves being able to connect with her character and bring him to life! Alexa would like to thank her mom for always supporting and believing in her, and the directors for helping to bring this show to life, because "we couldn't have pulled it off without their commitment and dedication."

  • Raya Curtis head shot

    Raya Curtis

    as Katherine Plumber

Raya Curtis has been a part of CSPA's musical productions since sixth grade. As a senior this year, Newsies Jr. will be her seventh and final performance on the CSPA stage. She thinks the funniest part of this show is watching a bunch of girls play these scrappy, homeless boys who aren't proper and have a very visible lack of manners! Raya would like to thank all the directors who have worked on this current musical as well as previous musicals. She says, "I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for them. I have been pushed to put myself out there so much more than I ever thought I was capable of. It's things like this that push people to find confidence and I'm grateful that I'll have that skill for life." The most rewarding part of the show for Raya, is also the worst part - the end. Getting to the final product of the project they've worked on for three months makes the show feel worth it.

  • Julie Reis head shot

    Julie Reis

    as Crutchie

Julie is excited to be performing in her very first CSPA musical! She has loved that this experience has helped her grow in her singing abilities and confidence. She has also enjoyed watching the show come together from the ground up. Julie would love to someday play either Elphaba or Glinda from Wicked, Juliet from Romeo and Juliet, or Christine from Phantom of the Opera.
