From the Director: "Pippin" was one of my first musicals, and the first time I discovered Bob Fosse! I love its messages, its theatricality, and of course the music, so it has always been close to my heart. And I always vowed never to stage it unless I had the complete team - the musical director, the choreographer, and most importantly - the actors for 'Pippin' and "Leading Player." Well, here they are. Natalie and I started working together over seven years ago, the same year Jeremy Hurr started in our fifth grade program. I first cast Jacob Yamaguchi in second grade. These two as well as our other nine seniors in this production have proven their professionalism time and time again over the years. We could not be closer to them if they were our own children. They are our own children. We teach, we cajol, we listen, we admonish, we work, we praise. We love. And now we get to share these remarkable young men and women with you tonight. Stephen Schwartz has said that "Pippin" is a coming-of-age story. Pippin grabs at life, warts and all -the good, the bad, the extremes. He travels from narcissistic adolescent to finally growing up. It has been our joy and honor to watch these children grow up. - Ms M
