First and foremost, THANK YOU for coming to the show!
COVID-19 definitely made an impact on what the Calumet Player’s have been doing over the past couple of years, but we are so happy to be back!
I am swept away by the power of community and have enjoyed bringing this show to life. The cast, crew, and our board have worked tirelessly to bring this story to life for you amidst laughter, excitement, and the pure joy of working together. I am honored be a part of this organization, one that truly belongs to the community.
We are all thrilled to be presenting Freaky Friday to you. A heartwarming modern story about a mom and daughter who do not appreciate each other for what they do, how they act, and above all else, how they feel. They have the incredible experience of switching places for just one day. Throughout their journey, they learn about each other and grow to appreciate and admire everything about the other person.
Consider now, the people in your lives who you do not truly understand. What would it be like to walk a day in their shoes? What would you learn about past hurts, fears, or triumphs? Where does their emotion come from?
I would like to personally recognize the support of Keweenaw Autobody, our set crew, stage hands, and our props teams for making what you see on the stage wonderful (as always). I also want to acknowledge the support I received from the Calumet Players Board, who backed me in my first directing role with the Calumet Player’s. And of course, I need to thank the wonderful cast!
I would like to invite anyone interested in becoming involved in the players to our annual meeting on November 1st @6pm at The Hut. Please email ptrud@hotmail.com or text (906)370-9631 to let us know of your interest to attend.
Thank you and enjoy the show!
