Welcome to Christian Youth Theater's

Production of

Alice in Wonderland JR!

     First and foremost, I want to say thank you for the privilege of directing such amazing students. There are few places in society today where you can truly mix passion for theater and faith and getting to do it with such great people is truly a blessing.

     From beginning to end, this story is about you and me. There is not a person who cannot relate in some way with the struggles that Alice goes through. The lessons that she learns are invaluable. Primarily she learns to not let life get the best of her. She learns that you can overcome any struggle and, just as importantly, to never give up her dream.

     As a pastor, I tell my congregation all the time that we are all just a bunch of sinners. Because of our brokenness, we are constantly running into obstacle after obstacle. It is inevitable because we are not perfect. The growth of Alice in this show is marked by each challenge that she faces. She finds it in herself to face everything, and become who she is truly meant to be. We are no different. Through faith, we too can look at all the things we face in this life and know that we can be conquerors with Christ. Much like Alice, we can continually grow stronger in who we are and who God wants us to be.

     We must continue to be dreamers. We are pushed relentlessly towards harsh realities in this world. In the shadow of those realities, those who can still dream and have not succumbed completely to the harshness are the ones that give us hope. Alice’s innocence is like a well in the center of the desert. Her ability to dream gives her something to strive for; something to hope for. Let there be room for dreamers because you will always need them. Thank you to CYT for this opportunity. I hope you enjoy Alice In Wonderland JR!
