MUSICAL DIRECTOR NOTES:

This has been my first experience directing a show here at CPAC with the Santa Cruz Shoestring Players, and what an experience it has been! I am in awe of the cast and crew of this show. Their talent, creativity, kindness, and brilliance have inspired me and reminded me why I love theater so much, especially musical theatre. As Musical Director for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, my goal was to be as lazy as possible by casting terrific singers and performers, then get out of their way and let them shine. Mission accomplished! As such, I must thank the cast for all their hard work and enthusiasm.

I especially thank my husband, Lee, for loving me enough to be in this show with me, even though it meant some very busy months for our family. As newlyweds we got to do improv together in Logan, UT; it is great to be taking the stage with you again. I also need to thank the many, many babysitters who made it possible for us to attend rehearsals. Thank you for taking care of my sons, Paul and Laszlo, while Mom and Dad were at rehearsals. Thanks Paula Hunter and Becky Johnston for your behind-the-scenes help.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't thank our audience. To my friends and family: thank you for coming to see this production. Every note we sing is our gift, our thank you, to those we love who sit in the audience. - Claire Phillips
