A note from "Nutcracker Suite & Spicy" Creator Carolyn Paine

14 years ago when I came up with the concept for The Nutcracker Suite & Spicy, my idea was to create a completely original, innovative, and unique show that takes the classic holiday ballet and shakes it up to make it more fun for contemporary audiences.

I sought to compile a diverse and talented cast of professional dancers who could bring their various styles from ballet to hip hop to tap to ballroom to the stage.

And so, with a kick line of Florettes, ugly Christmas sweaters, and snowballs darting about-here we are all these years later with so much about this now iconic show to celebrate! 

It has been an honor and privilege to be given the gift of time to allow this show to mature and evolve into the fanciful holiday season staple it has become. I am truly excited to see where the show goes from here as it continues to reach new levels and audiences.
But to me, the best part of this show has always been the cast, many of whom return year after year. These dancers are such a beautiful mix of humans from all walks of life. They inspire and challenge me as a choreographer for this show and beyond. This special cast and production reminds me that art is truly a powerful unifying force. I am deeply inspired by everyone who has been part of this show over the years and I am so very proud of our creation.

In a challenging world, this show truly proves how wonderful and innovative we can be when different comes together to dream big and build together.

And I want to give a very special thank you to all of you, our audience and suporters, who have provided this show with the opportunity to be part of your holidays year after year.
