Pure old fashioned Broadway! This show is full of rousing music and terrific dance numbers filled with zany characters very typical of a Jazz Age musical.
The Drowsy Chaperone is an escape from the mundane.
And escape is exactly what our Man in Chair needs. He is the ultimate musical theatre aficionado, and he entices us to escape the blues of our lives when he drops the needle on his favorite 1928 Broadway show. (And we hope you grow to love the musical as much as he does!)
It is truly the journey of the Man in Chair, as we obtain small glimpses into his life. And some of those glimpses are serious and sad. It is the Man in Chair's hope for the future that keeps him moving forward.
AND THE BEST THAT WE CAN DO
IS HOPE A BLUEBIRD
WILL SING HIS SONG
AS WE STUMBLE ALONG.
