From your Directors...
If you are reading this, you have made a great life decision, thank-you for coming to see our creation of Avenue Q! This show is a roller-coaster ride of exploring real life issues in a crude, corny and mildly offensive way. It follows recent university graduate, Princeton, on his journey to find his purpose in life. Moving to the dingy New York neighbourhood called Avenue Q, he encounters many memorable characters along the way and a cute little monster named Kate. Being an adult version of the popular children’s program Sesame Street, this show presents certain challenges when getting it on its feet, such as puppets! However, the cast has worked extremely hard bringing life to their puppets and creating this world where Gary Coleman and monsters roam the streets. We have formed an Avenue Q family that is open to playing and discovering with each other onstage in this world, which is definitely entertaining to watch. Musically, this year we have strived to perfect and produce the best sound possible to ensure an enriching experience for our audience. This process has been one of the most rewarding experiences as theatre artists and we hope to continue this kind of work in the future, as Princeton would say, it’s our purpose. Follow all of the outrageous characters of this Tony Award Winning musical, such as Trekkie Monster, Lucy the Slut and the Bad Idea Bears on their adventures on the street. So all we ask is that you sit back and relax; and enjoy your stroll down Avenue Q!
From your President...
Being a part of Brock Musical Theatre for 3 years and president for the last two has been a whirlwind of excitement. I am proud to be part of a club with such passionate members who strive to produce quality theatre that everyone can fall in love with. It is the drive and strength that i see in each member that makes this all worth while. Thank you to everyone who has taken time to either be a part of BMT or has come out to support us over the years because without you we could not have made this possible. Congratulations and break a leg!
