Broadway Theatricals

DIRECTORS NOTES

Oklahoma! is perhaps one of the most important pieces of musical theater of the Twentieth Century. The iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein score inspired a new generation of Broadway musicals and pushed the boundaries of the genre.  The impressive choreography featured one of the first dream ballet sequences seen on the stage and changed the way modern audiences would appreciate musicals for the next fifty years.

When the Creative Team from Broadway Theatricals decided to produce Oklahoma!, we felt it would blend humor, love, tragedy, song and dance to take you back to a time when Oklahoma was merely a territory, not a state. Oklahoma is a play about love within a family, between friends and those on opposite sides, as well as the love of the land.

In light of the recent tornado tragedies that befell Oklahoma, we felt it was more than fitting to donate a portion of our proceeds to the Oklahoma Disaster Relief Fund.Thank you all so much for being an important part of that humanitarian effort.

This cast of performers was such a pleasure to work with.  Their time and dedication was an act of love.  Their love translates into each character.

We hope you enjoy tonight’s featured presentation.  Come back and experience other Broadway Theatrical productions in the future.
