First, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting our endeavors as we bring the performing arts to Blennerhassett Middle School. These students, parents and volunteers have worked hard over the past three months to put together an unforgettable show for you to enjoy.
As a director, I try to pick shows that doesn’t only challenge the students but also our creative team. Picking a notable show such as “Frozen” is a little daunting for all of us. Everyone knows the movie, the characters and it’s special little challenges. So, the question is how do we do that on stage and with middle schoolers. The answer is trust, have faith and dig in, and that’s what we did. It seems like we are always provided, with the people, talent and skills that we need for every show, not only on stage but backstage and technically as well.
This production has not been all smooth sailing, we’ve met obstacles, challenges and ice castles. They say the show must go on and that ole adage has definitely come to mind several times over the past few weeks. I appreciate all the work that everyone has put in from the kids, to the parents and especially to the staff that makes my every dream, idea and whim come true. You guys truly have no idea how much I appreciate you, your talents and your willingness to give of your time and talents to these students.
And now it’s time to “Let It Go! “
