Notes from the Director
Welcome to American Idiot! Johnny, Will, and Tunny start their story in their hometown, Jingletown. They decide it’s time to leave behind their mundane life and head off to the big city. On their way out, Will’s girlfriend, Heather, tells him some shocking news leaving him unable to leave home. In the city, Johnny finds a girlfriend, Whatsername. Tunny finds that this life is not what he wants and decides to join the army. There, he finds a wonderful girl named Extraordinary Girl. Sad and alone, Johnny turns to other methods of coping which brings alive his alter ego, St. Jimmy.
This musical is so much more than just GreenDay music. It tells the story of real people and how choices affected their future. Every choice made in Act 1 drastically affects the outcome of the characters in Act 2. Each story is filled with rage and sorrow for their own reasons. Come and join us on this adventure filled with happiness, excitement, hurt, pain, and curiosity.
Thank you to the cast for working so hard with their characters. This show is by no means easy and you all pushed yourselves to make it happen. Thank you crew for working so hard these past couple months with painting and building our set! Your hard work is not unnoticed. Each and every cast and crew member has grown to make this show your own! I’m so proud of you all!
