This play was originally commissioned by Acme Theatre Company, a teen-centered theatre company in Davis, California, led by Emily Henderson. I wrote the play with a group of her young theatremakers as part of a devising / script-building process. The primary youth participants included the following: Maya Tripathi, Maya Krishnan, Cole Yambrovich, Mikaela Manzano, and Elizabeth Rutherford.
Additionally, this play was workshopped at the University of Texas at Austin, with the help of the Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities program. We were joined by a group of graduate students, undergraduates, and high schoolers. Emily directed this workshop. Their names are in the Acknowledgments.
Acme produced this play at the Wyatt Pavilion Theatre at the University of California, Davis, in the summer of 2018. Miriam Eusebio directed it. Lee Libet was the Stage Manager. Production credits can be found in the Acknowledgments.
