Notes from the Director
The past two years have been difficult for live theatre. Productions around the world were canceled or postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic. All Together Now! was created by Music Theatre International to celebrate the return of live theatre. The pandemic has affected our program, but we have been blessed to have had the opportunity to perform while other venues were shut down.
This weekend 2500 theatres across the world are producing All Together Now! What an incredible opportunity to celebrate live performance on a global scale! Each theatre was given 15 slots and thirty-two song options. While we weren't given the freedom to pick just any song on Broadway, each theatre could choose which songs from that list best fit their cast. We were so happy to see three musical numbers from recent productions!
All Together Now! is a very different type of show for our Barclay stage. We love telling stories, so a review show proved to be a challenge. Instead of telling one story over two hours, we are now telling 15 different stories in an hour and a half! Our show has over 150 costumes, 15 scene changes, 6 big dance numbers, and a few crowd-pleasing surprises. What an undertaking!
Thank you so much for supporting our theatre program! As always, Barclay College Theatre strives to keep Christian values and principles both on and off stage. We aim to produce family-friendly theatre with professional standards of excellence. Most importantly, we want to use our gifts in a way that honors Christ.
