Welcome to the first season of Babbling Brook Players in the beautiful parks of Rockland County. When I first approached my wife with the idea of starting a community theater a year ago we both were very enthusiastic but to be writing an end note to our first production is simply surreal.
The past year has been an amazing journey full of its ups and downs all leading to this very moment. Along the way, I have been fortunate to meet some extraordinary people, all of whom shared my passion and love for community arts. It has been a humbling experience and thank you all who have supported and assisted us in making this season possible: Town of Ramapo, Village of Montebello, Suffern High School, Gary Goldberg Financial Services and many, many others. Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you!!!
This season I had a pleasure of working with Peter Garruba, who has generously donated his time to direct our first production. I have known Peter for a few years now, but after almost a year of countless hours of phone conversations, texting, emails, production meetings, coffee cups and wine glasses Peter has become more like family. It is a great feeling to be able to work with someone who you can trust with everything and Peter is just that type of a person. Babbling Brook Players would not be here today if it wasn't for Peter.
I am also very proud of and thankful to our very talented cast and crew. It has been nothing but a pleasure to see them work and create wonderful art which I know they are very excited to share with you. Thank you to Kira, Chris, Cassandra, Jacques, Derek, Kevin, Jon, Donal, Kevin, Margo, Kristine, Emily, Zach and Samantha for making this a fun and memorable season.
Of course, nothing would be possible without the support of my family. My wife Liana has been a partner in this venture from the very beginning as a co-founder of Babbling Brook Players. In this production, she is wearing a few extra hats as part of the cast playing the role of Maria and also as an assistant director to Peter. To see her fulfill one of her life long dreams is a priceless reward. Thank you to our great kids Melissa, Bridget and Joshua for putting up with mom and dad's craziness and for supporting us along the way.
Finally thank you to all of you for coming out tonight to watch our show and for supporting the community theater arts. We worked really hard to bring you this quality classic production in this authentic outdoor setting. Let the curtain rise on Babbling Brook Players. Thank you and enjoy the show!
