A Note from the Director

Well, I’ve been doing a lot of dreaming lately and today that dream is becoming a reality. I am tender-hearted and full of love, excitement, and gratitude as the premiere production of The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong debuts with my own theatre production company, BIG HEARTS little theatre.
This company is born of my desire to passionately pursue the following - to independently produce both licensed and original works, to actively use theatre as a tool for social change, and to promote healing through sharing the arts with the community. After 20 years in my warm cocoon as an arts educator with the HWDSB, I have decided to spread my wings and fly on this new artistic journey. BIG HEARTS little theatre was born of a love that sometimes feels too big to hold. My gift is my ability to create safe spaces where artists can be supported and nurtured as they explore, create, develop, and transform. I am honoured to give that gift away to all the wonderful people here in this theatre tonight.
At BIG HEARTS little theatre, I will continue to guide young artists in the development of their skills and the pursuits of their dreams. It takes a community to develop theatre but man, oh man, does theatre ever develop a community.
