The Wizard of Oz - November 10 - November 12, 2016

BFA St. Albans

 End Notes

Director's Note

I would like to thank you all for coming to BFA Drama’s production of The Wizard of Oz. Dealing with a classic story that has made such an indelible impression on so many of our lives is an exciting challenge. Our goal was not to recreate the magic created by the film, but to take the magic in the story and take our own journey.

The cast have worked really hard to give these well-known characters fresh voices. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I’ve enjoyed guiding them along the road. The yellow brick road...

This show has a lot of moving parts and there are many people to thank - I am not going to attempt to thank them all here, but I do need to single out two people. The first is Jill Snapp. Her time and commitment to this project along with her artistic talent was a source of constant inspiration. I don’t know where I would have been without her.

The other person I need to thank is Vaughn Rock and his team. He never said “no” to any of my requests, and I have made a lot of requests. Hist positive “we-got-this” mentality helped us all get to Oz.

Thanks again for coming out and supporting this great group of actors and crew and joining us for a stroll over the rainbow…

Sincerely,

Robert Harte
