Director Note:

We welcome you to this evening's performance of The Wizard of Oz. This wonderful classic takes us on a journey down the yellow brick road where we will explore the value of home, finding that everything you have ever needed you just may have had within you the whole time, and look to how friendship can truly bring out the best in each of us. I am always drawn to plays were youth go on a journey and grow and find themselves along the way. I hope that this evening, no matter your age, that you find a piece of yourself in this production and experience the truly transformational joy of theatre. Thank you for supporting theatre!

A Few Things to Keep In Mind

When You Go to See a Play

  • Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off, and generally, anything that makes noise should not be brought into the theatre.

  • You should use the restroom before the show begins and not get out of your seat while the show is being performed.

  • A musical typically opens with an overture. This is when the orchestra plays a “preview” of all the songs the audience will hear in the show.

  • While it is appropriate to respond to funny, shocking, or entertaining moments of the play out loud, you should be aware of the audience members around you and respect their enjoyment of the production by not talking during the play.
