Director's Note
SOUTH PACIFIC is not a new show, but its themes resonate clearly today. It is the story of a group of individuals with very different backgrounds thrown together in a beautiful and frightening arena. The young people are looking for adventure to overcome boredom while their reality is the threat of imminent battles. A clear theme of anti-predujice and sense of finding "not what we're against, but what we are for" causes some to question their values as reflected in "You've got to be properly taught." My hope is that our students involved will gain the incite that their beautiful place, their Bali Ha'i, can be found through acceptance, love and hope.
